After having COVID-19, some people experience new or ongoing related symptoms often called Long COVID. In 2022, HB 22-1401 required the Office of Saving People Money on Health Care (OSPMHC) to produce an annual report studying the impact of Long COVID on the health and financial security of Coloradans and state health system preparedness to treat post-viral illness. The Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD) is being used as one of the underlying data sources to understand cost and utilization of services for those suffering from Long COVID.
