Center to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC) and CIVHC — Advanced Illness Care Policy Briefing
June 28, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 11:00 am
The Coalition to Transform Advanced Care (C-TAC), the leading voice for people living with advanced illness, and the Center for Improving Value in Health Care (CIVHC) will host a policy event to brief advocates on the latest policy developments in Washington and around the country that affect this vulnerable population. This discussion will include a national perspective, a discussion on what is happening in Colorado and in other states, and how other advocates can support this movement.
Over 10,000 Americans become eligible for Medicare every day. By 2030, the number of Medicare enrollees is expected to double to approximately 80 million individuals – many of whom will have increased healthcare needs later in life. Our healthcare system is currently unable to accommodate the rapidly growing size and need of the aging population.
C-TAC and CIVHC invite you to a compelling event with national and state leaders to highlight these issues and have a discussion on the role we all can play in supporting people living with advanced illness and their families. You will be briefed on efforts at the federal and local level currently underway as well as engage with a panel of experts who are working to improve health outcomes. Participants include:
Marian Grant, Senior Regulatory Advisor, C-TAC
Brian Shiozawa, Regional Director, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Kristin Paulson, Vice President of Research and Innovation, CIVHC
Jean Kutner, Chief Medical Officer, University of Colorado Hospital
Tracy Lippard, Clinical Lead for Complex Needs and Elder Care, Care Management Institute, Kaiser Permanente
Debbie Hornor, Senior Vice President, Health Strategies, Southwest Affiliate, American Heart Association
Adrian Miller, Executive Director, Colorado Council of Churches
