  • I noticed that the tool includes a five-digit “CPT” number after the name of the imaging service on the “View Imaging Procedures” tab. What is that?

That five-digit number is a CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) code. It’s the code that health insurance companies use to pay claims for the service. It’s good to know the CPT code because it’s the way both providers and insurance companies refer to a service. (We don’t include this code in the “Other Procedures” tab because these procedures include more than one service/CPT code.)  Contact your doctor or health care provider if you don’t know your specific CPT code.
