USE CASE: Assessing the Impact of High-Value Innovations on Low-Resource Communities

Through community sites, mental health providers in several Denver public schools, collaborations with community partnerships, and home-based outreach, the Mental Health Center of Denver (MHCD) provides treatment, prevention, outreach and crisis services to more than 60,000 children, families and adults annually.

Project Summary: MHCD plans to use CO APCD data to examine utilization and costs of care among patients served by MHCD and individuals residing in specific neighborhoods.

Benefit to Colorado: Results of this study will help MHCD determine the outcomes of their programs as well provide an evidence base for piloting similar programs across Colorado and the nation. Additionally, these finding could demonstrate how delivery of integrated services tailored to community needs could lower health care costs, improved access to care, and ultimately lead to better health outcomes.
