USE CASE: Assessing Diabetes Medication Adherence
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is dedicated to protecting and improving the health and environment of the people of Colorado. CDPHE oversees not only environmental issues like air pollution and drinking water but also public health concerns like chronic disease prevention and management.
Project Summary: As part of their participation in a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, CDPHE was required to report upon the proportion of adults with diabetes who filled a diabetes prescription, and took their medications as prescribed.
Benefit to Colorado: The data from this project has helped inform targeted interventions to increase care and disease management for people with diabetes in Colorado.
