Telehealth Analyses

Understand trends in telehealth use, barriers to accessing telehealth services, how social factors impact telehealth equity, and more.

Providing health care services remotely through telehealth has the potential to improve access to care and advance health equity, especially for patients in rural and under-resourced communities.

With the onset of COVID-19 in 2020, more providers started offering telehealth services than ever before, and many Coloradans continue to use telehealth as a source of care. In partnership with the Office of e-Health Innovation and others, CIVHC has conducted several analyses to better understand telehealth and how it’s being used by Coloradans. Use these reports to explore trends in telehealth use, provider payment barriers, the impact of social factors on telehealth use and more.

Telehealth in Focus: Colorado’s Policy Landscape

CIVHC will release a series of three issue briefs examining the development of telehealth policy in Colorado. The briefs will explore how Colorado’s policies align with national trends and what they indicate for the future of telehealth in the state.

This first introductory issue brief focuses on the evolution of telehealth policy in Colorado, both before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The second brief will compare Colorado’s policies to national trends, while the third and final issue brief will discuss the policy road ahead.
