Who is CIVHC?
CIVHC is an independent, evidence-based nonprofit that architects some of the nation’s most comprehensive health care claims data. As administrator of the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD), we are here first for the Coloradans represented in that data. And we form deep partnerships with organizations across the country who share our goal.
Claims arrive from 33 commercial payers, Medicaid, and Medicare, each with its own requirements. We architect that data with our end-users in mind, applying dedicated data quality and operations work. It’s earned us a reputation among researchers as a model in providing some of the cleanest of its kind in the country.
Better data is just our first step. We work alongside partners from the earliest questions through analysis and application, helping shape the work around their goals. These partnerships take many forms from supporting nonprofits with data needs for grants to helping companies build better products.
We bring data to life to inform the questions most pressing to our different audiences and partners. Where are cost savings for the public? Where care gaps show up on a map? Who is and isn’t getting preventive screenings? Where the ED is replacing primary care? We work with data to surface the story you need to tell.
Every year, CIVHC releases a wide range of free and broadly accessible public reports and data resources, making usable health care information readily available to the public to make better decisions or organizations to build from on their own.
