CIVHC VP of Research & Compliance Appointed to Board of National Data Organization

Jonathan Mathieu, Ph.D.CIVHC is pleased to announce Jonathan Mathieu, Ph.D., CIVHC Vice President of Research and Compliance and Chief Economist, was elected to the National Association of Health Data Organizations' (NAHDO) board of directors at its annual meeting in Washington, D.C. last month.

Dr. Mathieu is responsible for providing quantitative and analytical support for CIVHC’s strategic initiatives. Prior to joining CIVHC, Mathieu was employed as an economist at The Nature Conservancy, as well as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration where he provided support for policy initiatives affecting prescription drug, biological product and medical device manufacturers. He also served as an Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

As a member of the NAHDO board, Dr. Mathieu will help the non-profit drive towards improving the collection and use of health care data across the country. Dr. Mathieu was selected as a board member for his leadership in developing and advancing the use of Colorado's All Payer Claims Database both in Colorado and across the U.S. to achieve the Triple Aim of better health, better care and lower cost.

“Dr. Mathieu’s in-depth knowledge of health care data collection and analysis to support positive change combined with his experience with national partners across the U.S. will be a great asset to the NAHDO board,” states Denise Love, NAHDO CEO.

In 2013, CIVHC received NAHDO’s Innovation in Data Dissemination Award. CIVHC and data warehouse manager, Treo Solutions (now 3M), were recognized for their work creating and evolving the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (APCD) designed to provide transparent healthcare price and utilization information to improve care and lower costs.

NAHDO is a not-for-profit membership organization dedicated to improving health care through the collection, analysis, dissemination, public availability, and use of health data.

Established in 1986, NAHDO continues to monitor and shape national and state health information policies and provide technical support and assistance. Its members include public and private sector health information professionals.
