Every month tens of thousands of health claims from different public and private health insurance plans are submitted to the Colorado All Payer Claims Database (CO APCD). Billing platforms across the payers differ significantly resulting in varying levels of data submission completeness and detail. To make sense of the vast amounts of data received, CIVHC works to ensure the data submitted is as accurate and complete as possible according to the data submission guide.
To this end, CIVHC and the data warehouse manager conduct data integrity checks at the time of submission as well as post-processing. Our quality assurance process is continually being improved and refined to ensure data from the CO APCD is trusted, reliable, objective, and meaningful.
