CIVHC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that helps Colorado drive, deliver, and buy value in health care.
We administer the pioneering Colorado All Payer Claims Database, offering the state's most comprehensive health care cost, quality, and utilization claims data.
We unlock information and insights that guide meaningful action to improve health, enhance quality, and lower cost.
Bringing together a broad spectrum of organizations and individuals to design and drive collective change, CIVHC is devoted to a single cause: advancing an exceptional health care system for Colorado.
In 2008, Governor Ritter issued an Executive Order to create a group representing varied health care perspectives, sparking the inception of CIVHC. CIVHC was formed upon the recommendations of a planning committee consisting of a broad coalition representing all Coloradans – from consumers to business and health care leaders – as well as many months of study and outreach. CIVHC transitioned to a stand alone non-profit Colorado corporation in May, 2011.
CIVHC is the product of a truly collaborative and deliberative process, with Colorado’s leading voices from within and outside of health care actively engaged in its development. CIVHC is uniquely positioned to leverage commitment from health care leaders and other stakeholders throughout Colorado to improve health care quality and contain costs, leading to better overall value in health care.
